Speaker Agreement
The Speaker agrees to participate as an unpaid guest. Nothing in this agreement shall be construed as creating an employment relationship, agency, partnership, or joint venture between the Speaker and the event Organizers: The Community Cat Podcast (CCP) and The National Kitten Coalition (NKC).
The Speaker authorizes The Online Kitten Conference (OKC) Organizers to use their name, photograph, and biographical information for the purposes of promoting the OKC on websites, social media sites, and in printed and electronic materials.
By completing this form, the Speaker agrees to present a session via a web/online platform on Saturday, June 7, or Sunday, June 8, 2025 and will make every effort to comply with all speaker deadlines before the conference.
Content Ownership and Presentation Access
Presentation content and materials developed by the Speaker are the property of the speaker. Sessions will be recorded and made available to OKC registrants via the Conference Organizers’ websites, with a provided password, until October 1, 2025. The Speaker understands that permissions granted to OKC Organizers under this agreement do not prohibit the Speaker from using the presentation, including handouts and other materials, in the future in the Speaker’s personal or professional work.
The Speaker warrants and represents that their session presentation(s) and any related materials are, to the best of their knowledge, factually accurate, contain no matter libelous or otherwise unlawful, and do not infringe upon any third-party rights. The Speaker further warrants that such presentation(s), handouts, and related materials are either 1) the Speaker’s original work OR 2) available for use without permission because they are in a public domain OR 3) when materials utilized in the presentation are not the Speaker's original work or in a public domain, they are either: a. presented with permission of the originator/owner of the material or b. are believed to be within the “fair use” exemption of copyright law which includes use for purposes of criticism, news reporting, commentary, teaching and research.
The Speaker shall submit an electronic copy of their presentation to the OKC Organizers by Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Handouts, Polls, Video Clips
Handouts and polls are strongly encouraged. If the speaker chooses to provide the presentation slides and/or any additional materials, such as handouts or related documents for downloadable access by registrants, any such files must be provided to the Organizers by Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Any video clips used in your presentation must also be submitted to the OKC Organizers by Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Presentation Equipment, Practice Session, and Technology Test
The speaker agrees to use their own equipment and internet connection to present the session(s). OKC Organizers will be available remotely to the speaker to test presentation equipment and troubleshoot technology during the practice session.
The Speaker agrees to be available for a practice/tech check session the week of June 2, 2025 (specific date to be determined.)
Changes of Speakers, Session dates, times, or durations
The OKC Conference Organizers understand that occasions prohibiting the Speaker from presenting may arise. Should it become necessary to cancel, we ask that the Organizers be notified at WebEvents@KittenCoalition.org immediately. We ask that the Speaker make arrangements for another representative to present in their place if possible, but we reserve the right to approve or deny any substitute presenters. The OKC event Organizers reserve the right to cancel any session. However, any changes in date, time, or presentation duration would be mutually agreed upon between the Speaker and the OKC Organizer.
