Kitten Confident®: Essential Knowledge for Veterinary Professionals
Kitten Confident®: Essential Knowledge for Veterinary Professionals is a unique, on-demand online course offered by The National Kitten Coalition that equips veterinary professionals with essential knowledge to properly assess, treat, and support vulnerable kittens in their care.
It directly addresses a long-standing training gap: kitten-specific medical instruction is limited in most veterinary curricula, leaving many professionals without the specialized skills needed to prevent avoidable illness and death.
Kitten Confident® currently includes one three-hour course:
- Essential Kitten Knowledge (developmental stages, husbandry and nutrition),
- Exam Room Essentials (examinations, preventive care, including: parasites, testing, vaccines) and
- Common Kitten Medical Issues (stabilizing fragile kittens, diarrhea and constipation, upper respiratory infections, fading kitten/failure to thrive).
Course participants must complete all modules and pass a final quiz to earn Kitten Confident® certification and three hours of AAVSB RACE®-approved continuing education credits for veterinary professionals.
